What are Biocidal Products? Categories and Application Areas
Biocidal products play a crucial role in our daily lives for hygiene and health. These chemical substances are utilized to control microorganisms and pests. Such products possess a broad spectrum of applications and, when used correctly, provide effective and safe solutions.
What are Biocidal Products?
Biocidal products contain active substances used to kill or render harmless detrimental microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and algae. They are also employed for the control of rodents, insects, and other pests. These products are frequently utilized in cleaning, public health, food production, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
These products, regulated under the European Union Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, 528/2012) and the Turkish "Biocidal Products Regulation," are tested and approved for their safety concerning human health and the environment.
