General Test Procedure Steps

- The sample is inoculated into Soybean-Casein Digest Broth (SCD) or an appropriate liquid medium.
- Incubated at 20–25 °C for 2–5 days.
Selective Medium
- The enriched sample is subcultured onto Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) or an appropriate fungal medium.
- Colony development is observed for 2–5 days.
Identification and Confirmation
- Typical Candida albicans colonies are white to cream-colored.
- If necessary, confirmation is performed using biochemical tests or rapid identification kits.
Result
- If no colony is visible → "Candida albicans was not detected."
- If a colony is present → The result is "Candida albicans positive."
